This will probably go the way of my resolution to lose 15 pounds by June but here goes…
.
.
.
My in-house New Years resolutions:
.
- Finish my monthly expense reports on time
- Actually look at my to-do list once I’ve created it
- Take my least favorite client to lunch
- Take my least favorite direct to lunch
- Take my least favorite IT colleague to lunch (well, maybe the whole department)
- Be patient with the next Help Desk representative I have to speak with
- Walk out of the next meeting that’s truly a waste of my time
- Learn how to use formulas in Excel
- Start reading my emails in order of importance – not by when they were sent
- Archive my old emails – by topic (not happening)
- Forgive Communication Arts for all but completely ignoring the in-house community
- Complain to Facilities about the smelly bathroom on the second floor
- Complain to Food Service about the 1:30 close time at the cafeteria
- Complain to Security about mandated training on how to wear protective goggles in labs (which I never visit)
- Set up Softphone so my calls will be forwarded to my laptop (uh, on second thought – maybe not)
- Take all my compliance training on time (actually just taking it at all would be a breakthrough)
- Get to meetings on time (well at least for the first week of January)
- Be okay with taking a mental health day
- Have compassion for my clients who are overworked, understaffed and overwhelmed
- Tell my team how much I respect and admire them
